An Animatic by Alex DeLeon

Hello, My name is Alex DeLeon. I am a storyboard artist in Los Angeles. I thank Leif for his blog and am glad to contribute to it. This is an animatic that I made from shooting boards that I recently did for a director. I did the pencil drawings based on his shot list. I applied the camera moves and sound in After Effects. Thanks for viewing and more of my work may be viewed here.

  1. Absolutely amazing, Alex! Great drawings and great job building the animatic -- I'm in awe of you! :^) Can you tell us a bit more about the project or is it hush hush at this point?

  2. Thanks Leif. The project has a working title of "Speedway." It's about a fugitive motorcycle racer. It's being directed by an independent director. It's in the early stages of development. This is the first scene that I boarded for him.
He has some motorcycle footage that he shot and another scene for me to board out. He'll then use it as part of his presentation.

  3. Hate to be a wet blanket, but I think that scenerio has been done before.

  4. I checked out the clip on YouTube and I think the director must have based his shot list on that scene.
